Reading is a favorite pastime of millions of people. There is nothing like settling down with a favorite book, or a new book that you have been dying to read, and diving into the story. Often, the new bestseller that you had your eye on is simply too expensive, and many of us end up waiting until the book is less popular before we buy it. If you have been waiting on a book that was once a bestseller to come down in price, now is the time to shop at Barnes & Noble. They are having a sale on books that were former bestsellers!
One excellent way to make sure that your children develop a love of reading is by becoming an avid reader yourself. Many children want to try whatever it is that they see their parents doing, especially if the parent makes the activity look like fun. If you want to raise a reader you need to spend time reading books to your children. When they get old enough to read, you can take turns reading to each other. The most important thing you can do is to give your children many vivid examples that show how much you value, and enjoy, reading. If you want your kids to love books, they need to see you reading them.
A great way to make sure your kids see you read is to make sure you have lots of interesting books on hand. Right now, Barnes & Noble is having a sale on books that were once bestsellers. If you choose three books from their selection of over 100 titles, you will pay only $9.99 for all three. You get three books for under $10.00! This sale will end on September 14, 2010. This selection includes books from popular authors like Danielle Steel, Clive Cussler, Nora Roberts, Jonathan Kellerman, Janet Evanovich, Robert Ludlum, Dean Koontz, and Dennis LeHane. Non-fiction authors include Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, and Julie Andrews (who has written her autobiography). Personally, I can highly recommend the book “The Likeness” by Tana French, to people who love to read a good mystery. It’s one of my favorites, and is part of this sale.
