Behind the Scenes at the Miss USA Pageant

You have to wonder what viewers will remember most about Friday night’s Miss USA pageant—-the fact that a 26-year-old entrepreneur from Texas named Crystle Stewart walked away with the title or that celebrity judge Heather Mills was practically booed out of the venue by audience members.

Paul McCartney’s ex-wife received a raucous round of boos from the Miss USA audience when she was introduced during Friday’s broadcast, though she apparently didn’t let the unfriendly welcome put a damper on her night. According to reports, the former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant showed off some fancy footwork at a pageant afterparty.

The 40-year-old mother of McCartney’s youngest daughter reportedly shook her groove thing to the Donna Summer classic “She Works Hard for the Money” and other tunes until 2 a.m.

That’s about the time Gossip Girls’ Chace Crawford was reportedly seen leaving a Vegas hotel suite with a sullen look on his face.

Crawford wasn’t in Sin City to help judge the Miss USA Pageant, rather he was there to cheer on one specific contestant: Miss Missouri.

Twenty-one-year-old Candice Crawford is the reigning Miss Missouri and Chace’s blonde beauty of a sister. The actor joined the rest of his family in Vegas to watch Candice vie for the title of Miss USA.

If you missed the broadcast then you wouldn’t have seen the camera cut to the Crawford clan (including Chase) hooting and hollering when it was announced that Candice made it to the Top 10. Crawford’s sister’s bid for the Miss USA crown fell short and the disappointment on the faces of her cheering section spoke volumes. Frankly, I’m surprised the actor hung around to the end to see Stewart receive the title.

Then again, it could have been worse… neither Crawford got booed and the audience didn’t have to watch Mills do more than press a few buttons and wink at fellow judge and “Dancing with the Stars” alum Joey Fatone.
