In a few of my previous articles I have begun a small series on weddings and wedding planning. While many ladies are searching the web now for ideas and more information about weddings, others are trying to avoid them altogether.
There is a saying that goes something like “always a bridesmaid, never a bride”. This refers to the ladies out there that are always asked to be in the wedding but never the one planning the wedding.
This time of year can be very depressing for some people. The warm season is entering. Flowers are beginning to bloom and baby birds peep from their nest. Love is in the air. Bridal shows are being presented, bridal teas and showers are being given, and brides are busy at work planning their summer wedding.
However if you are one of those bridesmaids who wishes to be a bride you may not find this time of year so great. You may find yourself lonelier than ever before.
Instead of looking down on the many bridesmaids’ dresses hanging in your closet, look at the weddings as opportunities. They are opportunities to get ideas and take vows on things that you would never do at your own wedding. Look at how others handle things and begin making decisions of your own. That way when it is your turn, you will ready and the wedding will be perfect.
During these times it may be tempting to settle for a relationship that you are not confident in. Be sure to remember that it is worth being patient and waiting on a relationship that will last rather than jumping into a relationship that is not meant to be.
Stay true to your heart. Try to be happy for those that have found their true love. Yours may be waiting right around the corner (or even at the wedding reception!)
