Do you know what to buy this month to save the most money? Read on for the best buys in March.
Saving the most that you can means paying attention to sales and trends in the retail industry. Stores time their sales to the calendar month, so knowing when the best time to buy something is can save you a lot of money.
Gardening Tools
In March, seems to be looking forward to spring and planning out their gardens. It is still too cool in many regions to actually start planting, but that is no excuse not to get started preparing. March is a great month to access your needs and stock up on your gardening tools, which will be at the lowest prices of the season. So whether it is a spade or a hose, take a look now for some great bargains.
And, check out an earlier blog, Frugal Gardening: Make Your Own Seed-Starting Pots, for a very frugal way to get your seeds started. Other frugal gardening ideas include: Using Store Bought Produce for Seeds, Using Egg Cartons in the Garden and Vinegar in the Garden. Can’t wait for spring? You can always get started with Growing Basil and Growing Tomatoes Indoors.
Raincoats and Wind Breakers
Spring brings the rain to help your garden grow, and you will find plenty of raincoats and wind breakers on sale to help you with the weather. Raincoats and boots are a must for my kids; if there is a puddle within one mile of our house, they will find it.
Luggage
Get ready for spring break and summer vacations with great prices on luggage. From duffle bags to full sets on wheels, look for your new luggage in March. Incidentally, there always seems to be lots of great luggage at thrift stores, from vintage cases to more modern pieces. It seems that many people have a love hate relationship with their luggage and like to upgrade it often. Take a look at the article: Save More at The Thrift Store for some solid tips on getting the most out of your purchases if you would like to hunt for used luggage.
Frozen Foods
Did you know that March is National Frozen Foods month? You’ll find all sorts of sales on frozen foods this month. Be sure to check out the deals blog and deals forum for the latest sales and coupons to make the most of this seasonal phenomena. For me, I generally cook ahead and freeze my own meals, but I do take advantage March to stock up on frozen vegetables, such as broccoli and peas.
Have a frugal March and let me know what you find!
