What items should you purchase this month? Check out the best buys for May to know what will be on sale or special this month
To continue with our month-to-month plan, we’ll talk about what the best deals are to be had this month. You might remember that one of the recommended purchases from last month was china. Well, I am proud to say that we did take advantage of that one to get a set of real dishes.
I love these dishes because they are nice and heavy and can go into the oven. They kept our pancakes nice and warm last Saturday. Now we just need a set of glasses to go with them.
This month is a good time to buy major appliances. Unfortunately, we already purchased our refrigerator, because we didn’t actually have one, but if you are looking to upgrade a stove, refrigerator, washer, dryer, etc., make sure you hit those Memorial Day sales.
Everyone starts thinking of summer in May, as the spring temperatures start to rise. This is a good month to purchase anything related to the barbecue, be it something large such as a grill or patio set, or something smaller, such as picnic ware. Picnic foods will also see sales, from hot dogs and hamburgers to the buns and makings for salads. You can read more about that in Nicole’s recent blog, How To Find The Best Spring and Summer Sales on Food and Really Save.
For the stores, it is never to early to think of the beach, and you’ll find all sorts of preseason sales on summery handbags and totes, as well as swimsuits, sandals and other beach wear. Since it wasn’t that long ago here that we had a snow and ice storm that knocked out the power, I can’t quite envision shopping for a bathing suit, yet. But, I know I need one, so I will be on the lookout this month.
What about you? Do you plan on making any special purchases this month?
