Getting ready for those trick or treaters? There is plenty of candy on sale
right now, of course. You’ll be able to buy full size candy bars and be the
best-loved house in the neighborhood. So, don’t forget to stock up for your own
family. Just after Halloween, I once found full size candy bars at 10 for a
dollar. They made great movie snacks!
Remember, you can freeze most candy bars and chocolate for use throughout the
year. They keep for months and months.

If you have been in the market for a car, now is the best time of the year to
purchase a new one. Dealers are in a panic to get rid of the old models to make
way for the new ones. So, you’ll have more power to negotiate. And, if you wait
until the end of the month, there will be even more pressure on the dealers to
give you a good deal. That is because they need to make their quotas.
Outdoor sports equipment is showing some big discounts, from 30 percent or more off
of the regular prices. This is especially true for large items, such as play
systems and swing sets, trampolines, basketball hoops, etc. You’ll also find
deals on smaller items, such as bikes, roller skates and roller blades, and
outdoor ride on toys.
Near the end of the month, pick up some great deals on Halloween merchandise,
from costumes to decorations.
You may even see some sales on Christmas and winter holiday merchandise, as
retailers are competing for your holiday spending money. For the really great
deals, though, you’ll have to wait until December.
