Best Buys for September

Wow. I can’t believe that September is almost over. In spite of the waning days,
though, you can still get a good bargain when you know what to shop for this
month. Here are some of the things that traditionally go on sale or deep
discounts during the month of September.

Home sales

Want a really big ticket item? September is a great time to get a deal on a new
home. Most new home buyers have made their purchases and have settled in well
before the school session started, leaving less competition in the market.

Owners who hoped to make a sale in the spring or summer are getting anxious to
sell and are more likely to be open to negotiation, especially since the
holidays are just around the corner. They are also more willing to deal and get
themselves settle before the bad weather of winter sets in.

Bikes and Scooters

Need a way to get to and from that new home, or want to enjoy the great fall
weather? There is no better time to shop for a bike or scooter. You’ll find
plenty of sales out there at all different types of stores that want to pare down their stock
to make room for winter sports equipment and winter accessories.

Canned Goods

If you have been shopping the loss leaders at the grocery store, you may have
noticed lots of sales for soups and other canned goods. Now is the time to
stockpile them before winter. Remember that soup isn’t just for eating out of a
bowl. Get those cases of cream soups to use in your cooking. And with a
stockpile of canned veggies that you got for low, low, prices, you’ll never
have to worry about going to the store in a blizzard.

School Supplies

Most of the school supplies have been snatched up already, but what is left will
go for a song. That is because the stores are eager to get more of their
Halloween and Christmas stuff out, and all of those school supplies are taking
up space. Already have everything you need? Stock up for next year or find
creative ways to use them. A 10 cent composition book makes more cents than a
$2.00 writing pad, for example.

Happy shopping!
