How can you make the most of whatever bathroom space you have available? The answer is not unlike that old expression about how one makes lemonade from lemons. Think about your space and how it could better reflect the personalities of those who occupy it. (Don’t go too far and ponder schizophrenia or paranoia; keep it simple.) Here are some more thoughts on a rather cluttered topic.
Double Up
An uncluttered floor helps a great deal in fostering the illusion of more space. (Actually, it is not an illusion because the clutter does take up space.) Consider installing two double hooks for items such as robes, pajamas and towels. Tim Bitterman of Moen suggests double towel bars as well. He says, “If each of you has your own designated towel bar, you will have ample room to hang washcloths, hand and bath towels.” (He failed to mention Aunt Adelaide who might fit in very well whenever she dares to come to town.)
Share Your Shower
Transform your shower into a spa experience or even a dance hall if you feel so inclined. Fantasy rules especially well with a massaging showerhead with multiple spray settings, which can be personalized. Whether you like vigorous or soothing, don’t get too carried away and share your shower with neighbors and/or friends. (Repercussions cannot be examined here.)
Each To His or Her Own Decorating Tastes
According once again to Tim Bitterman, “Don’t impose your decorating styles and tastes on your mate. Talk about color selections and look at wallpapers and paint together. By incorporating colors you both like, it’s possible to create a room that brings the best of both worlds together, creating a retreat that can become the calm in your morning storm.”
