Birthday Party Ideas Online

Just this morning, I got an e-mail from a friend and fellow mom. She had some questions about having a birthday party for her little boy who is about to turn two years old. That is when I started thinking about all of the different themes that we have done in the past six years for birthday parties.

This past year, as I was telling my friend, we did a pirate theme for my oldest son. We buried a treasure chest in the woods of our backyard. The kids had to follow a treasure map that led through the woods, over a small creek and around natural obstacles, such as small boulders and tree trunks. In the treasure chest were lots of coins, jewels and prizes that I mostly bought from OrientalTrading.com.

Another year, we had a knight party, complete with a homemade castle made from a refrigerator box and a kiddie joust. I could go on and on. While I generally consider myself to be creative, I do have to confess that I got many of the ideas from a very comprehensive website.

This website lists thousands of birthday party ideas in more than 150 categories. And the best part? They are all ideas that came from other parents! To me, this is the best resource of ideas. Parents, after all, have been there and tried the ideas out on their own. They share what worked, what didn’t work and even where to get supplies. Some of the ideas have earned top honors for their creativity. The themes are inspiring. You’ll find everything from the traditional pirate and princess parties to the hip Hollywood movie premier parties to the more unique, such as airplane and 60s parties. And not all of the ideas are strictly for kids. You’ll find some ideas for adults, too.

The website is called Birthday Party Ideas.com, and you can visit it by clicking here: http://www.birthdaypartyideas.com/
