Black Friday Breakfast Ideas

McDonald’s drive-thru is one idea, but I’ve got a few better ones.

After spending who knows how many hours whipping up a Thanksgiving Day feast, the last place most of us want to spend Black Friday is in the kitchen. The day after Thanksgiving is typically reserved for hitting the mall or sleeping off turkey hangovers.

Still, we need to eat. However, we shouldn’t have to slave away in the kitchen for countless hours on Black Friday. That’s where the following recipes come in handy. The Black Friday breakfast dishes listed below are super simple to make, but you’d never be able to tell by tasting them:

EASY CHOCOLATE FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients:

3 eggs

3/4 cup milk

3 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa

1/4 teaspoon vanilla

1/8 teaspoon salt

8 slices bread thickly sliced

Powdered sugar

Butter

Directions:

Beat eggs, milk, sugar, cocoa, vanilla, and salt in large bowl until smooth.

Heat a little butter on a griddle or skillet over medium-low heat.

Dip bread in egg mixture. Place on griddle. Cook about 2 to 4 minutes on each side.

Serve immediately with powdered sugar and syrup.

EASY APPLE COFFEE CAKE

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter, room temperature

1 cup packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 cups all purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup sour cream

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

3 cups peeled, cored and chopped apples

Ingredients for Crumble Topping:

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 cup all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Lightly grease a 9 by 13-inch pan.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating after the addition of each.

In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.

Add to the wet ingredients, along with the sour cream and vanilla. Fold in apples. Pour into pan.

In another bowl, combine sugar, flour, cinnamon and butter and mix until is resembles coarse crumbs.

Sprinkle the topping over the cake and bake until golden brown and set, about 40 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.
