Blue Takes You to School

My daughter is a huge fan of “Blue’s Clues.” So much, in fact, that she was Blue for Halloween this year. Totally cute. We have a collection of “Blue’s Clues” DVDs, so I thought that I would share some of them with all of you. One of the DVDs we have is called “Blue Takes You to School” and it has four episodes on it.

Blue Takes You to School

In this episode, Periwinkle the cat is going to school for the first time. He is counting on Blue, Joe, and the children (whom we never see, but often hear) to help him through his first day. Periwinkle learns how to make new friends, gets a classroom responsibility, and has fun learning his new school routine. Joe plays Blue’s Clues to figure out what is Blue’s favorite part of school.

Numbers Everywhere

Joe and Blue go all around the house counting numbers. They find numbers everywhere, whether on the refrigerator or in a picture on the wall. Blue “skiddoos” into a book full of numbers and Joe follows. The search continues as Joe looks for clues to find out Blue’s favorite number.

Blue’s ABC’s

This episode features Steve and it’s all about reading! All of the items around the house have words on them, so Blue and Steve go around the house reading everything. Blue and Steve even skiddoo into a storybook! Steve plays Blue’s Clues to figure out what Blue wants to read.

Math!

This episode deals with counting, addition, and subtraction. Kids can help Steve buy a new crayon for two Blue dollars, prepare for a picnic, and buy presents. Steve plays Blue’s Clues to figure out what Blue wants to buy.

There are several special features on this DVD, as well. There is a game for your preschooler to play after watching the episodes called “Blue’s School Search Game.” Also, an episode of “Oobi,” our favorite character from NOGGIN network, is featured.

Every time my daughter watches this DVD, she picks up some new fact or skill. I know that your child will enjoy this DVD as much as mine does.

“Blue Takes You to School” is available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other retailers.
