Body-for-Life Food Review: South Beach Diet Pizza

Who knew you could make sausage and pepperoni from chicken and have it be just as tasty as the pork versions? OK, technically speaking, the personal sized South Beach Diet Pizza that can be found in your grocer’s freezer isn’t a completely authorized food simply because of the cheese that is on it. It is, however, a great free-day food and is much better for you than your favorite take-out pizza.

The deluxe pizza has a whole wheat crust, sausage, pepperoni, green and red peppers and onion. As a Pizza Hut pizza lover, I was skeptical about this pizza at first but when I found I could buy it for only $2, compared to a $5 Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza, I gave it a try. I’m really happy that I did too!

This pizza is just as tasty, has far less fat and carbohydrates and way more protein than any Pizza Hut pizza!

With 10 grams of fiber, the actual carbohydrate count for one whole South Beach Diet Pizza is only 27 grams. When you put that up against 30 grams of protein, it makes for a great balance and a meal that really satisfies. The high fiber content ensures that your blood sugar doesn’t spike from the carbohydrates and the high protein content ensures that you feel satisfied after your meal and have enough energy to get you to your next meal.

The South Beach Diet Pizza comes in a single serving size and the box converts so that you can microwave this pizza in 3.5 minutes and still have a crispy crust. This is an ideal meal for anyone looking for an easy meal to bring to work or something quick to cook in the microwave after a long day at work. I highly recommend this pizza for any pizza lover who is on the Body-for-Life program.
