When using yoga to relieve back and neck pain a general yoga book is an insufficient resource. You need a book that provides reliable information about the poses to use for your pain and which ones should be avoided. Back Care Basics: A Doctor’s Gentle Yoga Program for Back and Neck Pain Relief.

The book describes a yoga centered approach to back and neck rehabilitation. The author provides a simple system to heal the body and bring it back into alignment and balance. combination of yoga rehabilitation exercise program using Iyengar yoga and positive changes regarding the thought process and healthy lifestyle practices.

You shouldn’t expect to find one specific exercise program since the individual situation or injury dictates the rehab needs. The program in this book provides information about back injury and healing the body through yoga and guides you through the process of creating your own program to help your body return to health and balance.

Certain normal daily activities can contribute to back and neck pain. The book describes how to prevent pain and help heal the body using a natural program that costs next to nothing and doesn’t rely on drugs or other methods of artificial pain relief. This program focuses on healing the source of the pain for long term relief.

The first part of the book is devoted to understanding the back, moving after injury and assessing your flexibility. Relaxation techniques and tips to deal with the emotional stress of healing after a back injury, surgery or healing the body of chronic back and neck pain in a natural way.
