Boy Oh Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy

Let’s hear it for the boy…

Three days after giving birth to her first son, Elisabeth Hasselbeck announced his name on “The View” this morning.

Taylor Thomas Hasselbeck is healthy and nursing like a champ, according to his mom.

Elisabeth called into today’s show and revealed little else than her son’s name (more on that later) and the fact that she was in labor “forever…four or five thousand hours,” but only pushed for 35 minutes before Taylor made his debut. She also said that her 2-year-old daughter Grace loves her new little brother and tries to feed him her Goldfish crackers.

What do you think about the name Elisabeth chose to name her new bundle of joy?

Various Internet chatrooms have made it their topic of the day with many people making the comment that these days the name Taylor is used more as a girl’s name than a boy’s and wondered why Elisabeth would not pick a more traditional name to match Grace’s.

Personally, all I could think of when I heard the name was actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas from ABC’s defunct sitcom “Home Improvement.”

Another celebrity seeing blue is singer Christina Aguilera.

According to various news reports, the Grammy winner celebrated the first of three baby showers at her home in Beverly Hills this weekend.

While Aguilera has not confirmed the gender of her baby (heck, she just confirmed her pregnancy last week and she’s already in her eighth month) the party decorations and gifts all shared the same color theme—baby boy blue.

Guests including gal pal Gwen Stefani gifted Aguilera with blue shirts, a bassinet with blue dot bedding, and Sozo Whiz Kid wee block, which comes in handy when changing a baby boy’s diapers.

Aguilera is reportedly due in early January.

Finally, if you believe the New York Post, you can add actress Halle Berry to the list of first-time celebrity moms-to-be who are expecting a boy. The paper quotes an unnamed source who revealed the gender of the 41-year-old actress’ unborn child.

The only problem with this information is that Berry has said on numerous occasions that she is adamant about not finding out the sex of her baby before it’s born.

During a recent appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” Berry said: “There’s so few genuine surprises in life anymore — why not have a huge surprise? I like fantasizing [that] one day it’s a girl, one day it’s a boy.”

Berry’s bundle of joy is due in March.
