Boys Will Be Boys

I am so amazed at the difference between my boys and my girl. As a baby, my daughter used to sit and play quietly with a cup and spoon “feeding” her baby doll, while my boys are all rough and tumble play. Even as an 11 month old.

My baby has picked up all the truck noises from his big brother. His favorite thing in the world is pushing the fun big trucks around that his older brother has. I keep them hidden under my 3 year old’s bed, but the baby has figured out where they are, and makes a bee line for that spot whenever he gets the chance. Then he pushes them around the house (even though some of them are as big as he is). Sometimes I think he could do it all day. He has even learned to make the “vroom vroom” noise already that my older boy makes. It is amazing how much boys are just boys by nature.

Yesterday, my yard was full of beautiful, big fall leaves. I wanted to get a picture of all 3 kids as they were playing outside. My daughter posed for me like an angel, but my boys wouldn’t sit still. The baby noticed his big brother’s dump truck, and the chances of a picture of him sitting still in the leaves was all over! Instead, he pushed that truck all over the yard getting very frustrated sometimes when it got stuck on something.

From climbing into the dishwasher, to trying to use his diaper boxes as stairs to get to something up high, my baby is non-stop on the go. Gone are the days when I can get him to sit in a chair and pose for his monthly pictures. Instead, a blurry baby in motion is what I get. That’s OK. I sure do love my little boys!
