Bring a Spring Planter Indoors

You can bring a little touch of spring into your home with this dramatic display that will give your room a new look that makes a dramatic statement.

What you will need for this idea is an outdoor planter vase. There are many options to chose from. You can purchase an outdoor planter specifically for this look, or just utilize a planter that you may already have on hand.

Choose a planter vase that will suit your favorite arrangement. For a bold flower, choose a bold planter. Small delicate flowers, such as miniature tulips would benefit from a petite pot.

Arrange your fresh cut flowers in the pot and then add water as needed. If your planter pot is wide, consider an arrangement with filler flowers at the bottom, such as large mums.

If you planter happens to have a drainage hole in the bottom, you will need to fill the hole. Waterproof caulk is an easy way to solve the problem. Make sure you allow the caulk to dry for 24 hours before you fill the pot with water.

Some other ideas for unusual outdoor to indoor planters include the idea of bringing a window box indoors. You can attach the window box on the inside of the window, or hang it from the wall like a shelf. (Just make sure you can easily detach it for planting and cleaning.)

A cute idea for the window box is to place flowers in low vases with water, and then arrange the vases in the window box. Fill in the spaces in between the vases with spanish moss to hide the vases themselves. This is a lovely look for tulips, irises and other spring flowers.

A galvanized bucket makes a nice indoor arrangement. Again, suit the size of the bucket to the size of your arrangement. Make sure to use foam or a flower frog to keep the stems supported.
