It’s a boy… almost.
Bristol Palin is reportedly due with her first child this Saturday, but her grandfather says the 18-year-old could give birth any minute now.
If you thought the spotlight has dimmed on the soon-to-be teen mother, think again. According to Sarah Palin’s father, Chuck Heath, gifts for the Alaskan governor’s first grandchild have been coming in by the truckload.
“In Sarah’s mailroom, there’s 87 boxes – big boxes of mail that haven’t even been opened,” 70-year-old Heath told Grandparents.com. The future great-grandfather says Bristol’s newborn will be swimming in baby items once he makes his debut.
As for how the former vice-presidential nominee is prepping for Bristol’s labor and delivery, Heath says Sarah Palin plans to be on hand for the big event.
“My daughter will be a great grandmother,” he says. “She’s a great mother – great daughter, great mother.”
However, she might be fighting her own mother once Bristol’s baby is born. Heath says his wife Sally is thrilled to be welcoming a new member of the family and can’t wait to get her hands on her new great-grandson.
“Sally, is just looking forward to taking care of him,” Heath says. “She’s one of those good grandmother types. The grandkids and the kids come first. I come second.”
Another grandmother going gaga over her new grandson is Naomi Watts’ mom Miv.
The actress and her actor partner Liev Schreiber welcomed their second son into the world on Saturday. According to reports, Samuel Kai Schreiber and weighed a healthy 7 lbs., 13 oz.
Samuel is the couple’s second child. The acting pair is also parents to 16-month-old Alexander “Sasha” Pete Schreiber.
Forty-year-old Watts and 41-year-old Schreiber have been a couple since 2005 and recently welcomed Watts’ mother to their New York home. According to reports, Miv flew in from her home in Australia and plans to stay with the family until after the New Year.
