Maybe she was jealous of her baby sister’s new TV role?
Or, perhaps, Britney Spears has simply tired of her daily Starbucks and retail therapy routine. Either way the troubled pop star is heading back to the small screen. Ms. Meltdown just scored a guest role on CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother.”
The last time the mother of two appeared on TV was in April 2006 when she played a conservative talk show host on an episode of NBC’s “Will & Grace.” Prior to that she and ex-husband Kevin Federline enjoyed a brief stint as reality TV stars on “Britney & Kevin: Chaotic.”
Of course, that was before the former Mouseketeer’s life got severely chaotic. These days Brit’s father and acting conservator is the one in charge of Brit’s life. And according to reports, he was the one who gave the reforming pop wreck permission to appear on the sitcom and reportedly only did so because it will not be a long-term or continuous role.
Meanwhile, there’s more good news on the Britney front. The 26-year-old is getting an allowance.
Never mind that she is worth an estimated $100 million, given her current mental state, it took a judge to sign off on a request allowing the singer a $1,500-a-week allowance on a debit card before Spears’ father could provide his daughter with the privilege.
Jamie Spears’ lawyer said it was done so Britney can “spend money, have her freedom, and make choices about how she wants to enjoy her life.”
In addition, the judge also approved the hiring of two specialist attorneys to help the singer and her lawyers sort out her affairs while Spears is under a temporary co-conservatorship.
Fifteen hundred dollars a week comes out to $6000 a month, which is huge to me. But, for someone like Britney who was used to dropping $20,000 in a single night the new allowance is likely a slap in the face… though it is better than nothing.
