Britney’s Released, but Kirsten’s Locked Up

Okay, the title is a bit misleading, young actress Kirsten Dunst isn’t exactly locked up, but then again, she isn’t totally free – she is in rehab. Like so many before her, Kirsten has gone to a treatment facility. Kirsten, 25, has gone to the Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah. You may remember hearing about that facility as it is the one that held one Lindsay Lohan not too long ago. Actress Eva Mendes also recently checked in, but is now temporarily out, with her rep saying she is “attending to some personal business in Los Angeles and intends to return to complete her treatment shortly.”

Kirsten and Lindsay have more in common than just attending the same rehab. Both shot to stardom at a very early age. Kirsten starred in Interview with the Vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt when she was only 11 years old. That same year, she was in Little Women with Winona Ryder and she went on to appear in Jumanji in 1995. Since then, she has been a staple both on television (she appeared in six episodes of “ER” and the made for television movie “Fifteen and Pregnant”) and movies (appearing in all three Spiderman movies).

Kirsten had a much publicized romance with Jake Gyllenhaal that lasted two years and the tabloids are reporting that she is heartbroken over his romance with newly divorced Reese Witherspoon. Could that be causing her to party like there is no tomorrow?

Speaking of partying like there is no tomorrow, it was announced that Britney Spears has left the psych ward. She spent the first night out at home with her family, but it seems her mom and pop aren’t so happy she has been released early. Britney’s dad Jamie has been named her co-conservator, but about her early release, they issued this statement:

“As parents of an adult child in the throes of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed … to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter’s safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk.

There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court’s orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted.”
