It’s been below freezing all week here, with nights dipping into the teens. Usually here in the northwest, snow falls and then it gets rained off. But this year’s been different. It’s staying on the ground. With temperatures rarely getting over 32 even in the daytime, we’ve had to make some adjustments. The kids have been allowed on electronics before five, the dogs come inside for the night, the windows get closed, we drink a lot of hot tea, and we wrap in throws! Throws are the perfect size to wrap around like a long shawl or to drape across your lap for extra warmth. So I admit that even though we don’t need any, I bought a couple of these. They’re a rayon and polyester chenille. When I was a teenager, my mom bought two of my sisters and me chenille robes for Christmas. Mine was green, Jennifer’s was purple, and Angela’s was blue. I can still remember the three of us sitting on the couch in our robes. I think I had that robe for fifteen or twenty years before it finally gave up the ghost. Chenille is so soft and feminine, and it makes you feel that way wearing it (I have the ‘soft’ part down, but I’m still working on the latter! lol).
