If you could build your own personal gym where money was not an object, what would you build?
For me – if money were no object – I would start by dedicating one full room in the house for a gym specifically and I’d populate it with the following items:
Weight Training Multistation that costs about $6,000 and features a multitude of resistance training equipment and a wide variety of support exercises. I’d want to add to that a top of the line, True treadmill that runs about $5,000 along with a high end Elliptical trainer and stationary bike ($5,000 and $2,000 respectively).
I’d like the cycle to include a virtual reality monitor that simulates motion and provides a screen where you can take yourself out on the road and ride anywhere you want to go. Sounding too good to be true? Yeah, me too – but I still like it. I’m making a wish list up right now. If I’ve got this whole set up going, what more could I possibly want?
To add to all of this, I’d want a 33-inch flat screen TV at a cost of $1,500, a CD surround sound system at a $1,000 and a high end heart monitor at a cost of $180. A good pedometer and throw in two Swiss exercise balls at $25 each, a weight abs ball at $30 and a full set of hand weights at $10 to $15 each. A weight rack and a yoga mat are the final bits to add to the gym setup.
Total cost of this home gym would be around $22,000 give or take. Not a bad price for a dream area – and I’d definitely get a real kick out of working out in this dream gym area. While this is hardly a practical idea for building yourself a home gym – it’s definitely a cool idea –
— what’s your idea for a dream gym?
