This craft makes a great gift for your favorite executive or home business owner.
Items Needed:
- Craft sticks (Popsicle stick size)
- Glue
- Felt
- Utility knife (with adult assistance)
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Stickers, stencils, or other embellishments
Directions:
Place plastic over your work surface to avoid messes. Newspaper isn’t great for this project. Use plastic grocery bags if you don’t have anything else handy.
Place three craft sticks lying flat, side by side, and glue them together. This will be the bottom of the business card holder.
Stand another stick on its side and glue it the edge then do the same with another stick and glue it the opposite edge. Lay another stick flat beside each of the upraised pieces and glue them on.
Next, place three craft sticks side by side and glue them together. You will need to do this twice to make two sets of three. Allow each set to dry then stand them on their sides and glue them to the upraised sticks you attached to the bottom piece. Allow glue to dry.
Cut two more craft sticks in half using the utility knife with adult assistance (or have an adult do the cutting). Criss-cross two half pieces and glue them together to form the shape of an X. These will be the sides. Glue them in place and make sure they’re dry before you paint the business card holder.
Paint all one color or different colors or use colors found in the recipient’s company logo. Add stickers, stencils, glitter, or other embellishments. For an extra special touch, glue on photos or attach one of the recipient’s own business cards to the front and decorate around it.
Cut a piece of felt to fit inside the business card holder and glue in place. Cut another piece to glue onto the bottom of the holder so it won’t scratch the desktop or other surface.
