Have you ever had a stain on your carpet and been stuck wondering how you would ever get it out? Sometimes, it takes a great deal of time and effort to remove stains from carpets using cleaning tools and products that you have around the house. Sometimes a stain seems impossible to remove. You can rent carpet cleaning machines, but they are usually big and heavy and it takes time to use them. Professional carpet cleaners can help you, whether you need to remove a stain or make all of the carpets in your home look and feel fresh and clean. Did you know that some of your local carpet cleaning experts are home – based professionals?
Carpet cleaning is a home – based business idea that you could approach in one of two ways. You could use conventional cleaning products and provide a traditional carpet cleaning service. You could also use environmentally friendly cleaning products to provide a “green” carpet cleaning service. For either option, a logical first step is to learn how to clean carpets. I will be the first to admit that I have no clue how to get stains out of my carpet. There are ways to do it, and anyone who is interested can learn how either on their own or by working for a carpet cleaning business first.
Once you know how to clean carpets, it’s time to put together a business plan. What kind of carpet cleaning service will you offer – “green” or conventional? How much will you need to spend on equipment and supplies? Are there options for renting equipment until you can buy your own? What business licenses or permits will you need? Who are your potential clients – are they businesses or homeowners? These questions and more will be a part of going through the business planning process for your home based carpet cleaning business.
If you choose to pursue a home based carpet cleaning business, your services will always be in demand. You may even want to offer “emergency” services on the weekends for an additional fee – because stains happen, and not just Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go figure out how to get a stain out of my own carpet!
