I recently became aware of an interesting business idea; The Etiquette Factory. My business revolves around etiquette so this company and business opportunity caught my eye. I found this to a unique concept that is relevant for today. Let me start out by explaining what the Etiquette Factory is before explaining the business opportunity.
The Etiquette Factory: This is a three phase curriculum for children from preschool through teen years designed to teach proper etiquette which is basically a respect for others and themselves. The program teaches everything from table manners to social media etiquette. You can use this program in homeschool, homeschool co-ops, private school, preschool, public school, girl scouts, boy scouts or youth groups. The curriculum is logically laid out, easy to implement and full of fun hands on activities to reinforce the concepts being taught. The curriculum can be used for events or a series or you can plan a summer camp.
Business Opportunity: If this business sounds like something you believe in and think you could implement then you may want to consider becoming an educator for The Etiquette Factory. There are two ways to do become involved. You can become an Educator Owner or an Educator who works under an owner. I always recommend becoming an owner rather than a worker since that allows you more control and higher profits. The start up fee is fairly low at $349.00 to become an owner and gain the training. To become an Educator the start up fee is $175.00. However as an owner you will be running your own business and have many opportunities to spread the word through schools, summer camps, one day seminars, etc. If you are able to organize a summer camp for 12 children for one week the income indicator at $89 per student for 4 days will earn you $1,068. You may be able to plan several summer camps throughout your community.
Why: Etiquette is a lost art yet it is something everyone appreciates. Parents strive to raise children with solid character but with busy lives it is often hard to focus on this one area. Etiquette is more than how to set a table or answer a phone so a class setting is ideal to teach some of the finer points of etiquette. If you are a teacher, homeschool mom, parent or someone who sees the value in etiquette and feels comfortable socially you may have found a fun and profitable business.
Why Not: This business like any other depends on demand. If you live in a small town and do not have the ability or desire to travel you may not see much of a profit. This is not an online business so you are required to meet face to face for marketing. If you are not someone who feels comfortable speaking to groups of children, teens or adults and would rather stay behind a computer screen this is not an opportunity for you. If you do not see the value in etiquette this may not hold your interest and therefore you will not be able market it well.
