Continuing on with the Business Marketing 101 series, we are going to be looking at the benefits of a business card. My personal favorite resource for this is Vistaprint. They make it easy and very affordable. In fact, many times you can get business cards for free and just pay for shipping. But they also offer other great deals.
Creating a business card is beneficial for a number of reasons. Although social networking and other forms of technology can help market your business, you can’t dismiss the good old fashioned business card.
You never know who you will run across and when. Having a business card on hand could be lifesaving. It could potentially bring in more customers and it definitely makes you look more professional.
But remember that your business card is also a way to make an impression so you want it to be a positive one. You need to make sure your business card fits your line of work and is designed in a way that attracts potential clients.
People will take note of the design, the logo and the information you include on your card. You always want to make sure that you have your name, what your line of work is, your website, email address, phone number and address. The point is to make sure you are accessible.
Business cards are a great way to connect with others. If you feel so inclined, you could even leave them in areas where potential customers gather. With a business card you don’t always have to receive an open invitation to give it out.
I also love the benefit of dropping your business card into a jar for a chance at a free lunch or other deals that many businesses offer. You just never know what could come of it.
If you don’t have a business card already, get moving on that. Keep them on hand so that you are always ready to promote and market your business.
