You’re a committed couponing deal hunter, but you can’t find coupons near you. Your newspapers don’t give you all the inserts. The regional marketing for your area leaves out some of the prime coupons from the inserts that you see listed in other areas. Your stores do not stock blinkies, or tearpads. Worse, people look at you like you are crazy when you ask them to save Sunday inserts for you. After all, who uses coupons around here anyway?
Well, you do. And you save lots of money. But you need a steady supply of coupons to do it. So what can you do?
Buying coupons is illegal. But paying someone else for the time and erffort to clip their extras for you seems to be the way that clever deal hunters get around this, and are able to find the coupons they want and need – and use. Lets look at how you can do this and remain safe and legal.
There are lots of scams out there. Don’t buy printable coupons on the internet, and only buy free coupons at your own risk. These are usually fraudulent.
You can find reliable people who are clipping for a handling fee by looking on Ebay, or finding them though deals forums and advertising. Some of the more reliable providers of coupons and information are Coupon Clippers and Taylortown. You might also find advertising in coupon related publications and internet sites, or trading networks.
Here’s what to watch out for:
Someone who is offering lots of a single coupon for sale on Ebay or in a classified ad is probably fraudulent, especially if the coupon is for a free item. Usually these have a unique bar code, especially if they are printables. Photocopying coupons is illegal, and it is likely that someone who has large quantities of a high value or free coupon for sale is photocopying them.
Make sure that you are specifically paying a handling fee, and not actually paying for the coupon.
It sounds crazy, paying for someone to send you coupons, but if you know what you are doing with shopping, and know what you are getting, it can really expand your opportunities for savings and profit.
