For my last blog, we talked about BzzAgent and WOM (word of mouth marketing).
WOM works in your own business as well! What can you do to create a “Bzzzzzzz”?
There are so many things you can do from giving out samples, to letting your customers “play” to creating your own “Bzz” program!
Here are some examples of what I do:
For Power Pops, I give out free samples! However, sometimes you have to be careful. One lollipop does not show the full effect of what Power Pops can do. In fact, for many people, it may take a week before they begin to see and feel the weight loss effects. With one pop, however, they can taste how good they are and most do feel the energy boost. However, I have had a few sample customers complain they didn’t lose any weight and so they deem the product not worth their time.
It took me a while to realize that I need to prep my customers and let them know it will take them some time to see the effects, but I am happy to give them one so they at least know they will enjoy the taste.
Soon, however, I realized that my best form of advertising was from my satisfied customers. I began getting calls from “friends” of my clients! I soon began a referral system. Now I give out $3 Power Pops Bucks to be used towards their next purchase. They can use them one at a time, or combine them for a free bag!
With Discovery Toys, it’s a little harder to give out samples. However, at the party the guests get to play with the toys. This is a “sampling” of the product as well. When I really want to leave an impression, though, I send a toy home with them. For example, when I let my school borrow Zingo, I in turn sold one.
Even for my website, Passion to Success, I know that many of the click throughs are from my signature and from others who found useful information they feel others will benefit from.
One website who really utilized WOM is the Success Factory. The owners had a huge network of friends with large teams. What a great example of using friends and acquaintances to build your business.
Scrapbooking retreats also create a huge bzz where I live. For avid scrapbookers, they get a whole weekend of sampling products! I love this idea for those of you who have project businesses. Just the buzz from those getting ready to attend will boost your attendance.
Please share what you do in your business to create either a “bzz’ or a referral program!
