Having trouble finding information about one of your ancestors? Perhaps you have already searched through several online genealogy websites, visited graveyards, sifted through old family photos, and gone through the archives of courthouses, only to come up with nothing. Instead of giving up, or getting disappointed, let PeopleFinders help you!
Genealogy can be fun when you are able to find the information you are looking for. Finding a previously unknown ancestor can be exciting! For some people, finding out an ancestor’s birth date, death date, or date of marriage can be like placing the final puzzle piece that completes the picture. It is this kind of experience that causes to many genealogists to describe their hobby as “an addiction”. Conversely, it can be extremely frustrating when your research leads you directly to a brick wall, that you cannot seem to get past. This is the point where people get a bit desperate, and attempt to google their ancestors. Hey, it might actually bring up a useful result, you never know until you try!
PeopleFinders is a website where you can “find anyone, anywhere”. This is not specifically a genealogy website. Type in the surname of the person you are looking for into their search engine. If you know that person’s first name, middle initial, and the city and state that he or she lived in, you can add that as well. You can enter a phone number, address, or email, and get a reverse search done. In general, the PeopleFinders website is something that a person would use to try and find information about a person who is alive today. Not sure whose phone number appeared on your caller I.D.? Run it through PeopleFinders and see what results come up.
However, PeopleFinders can also be used to help you find out information about your living relatives. Many families have long-lost relatives that the family is seeking to get in touch with. It is possible that PeopleFinders will be able to find the address or telephone number of that missing relative. Perhaps you can get in touch with that person, and reconnect! You might learn quite a bit about that side of your family through information your newly-found relative can provide.
The PeopleFinders website also allows you to access Public Records. This includes an address history, birth and death records, marriage and divorce records, real property records, names of relatives of that person, and more. Enter the person’s full name into the search engine, and select the state that he or she lives in. You will be asked to pay in order to view the results.
