Thanksgiving Photo Ideas
With Thanksgiving nearly here, I was thinking about the things I would like to document this year for this special holiday. With a little planning, you can make sure to take pictures and preserve those special memories.
Here are a few ideas I’ve had that you may want to include on your scrapbook layouts.
Family photos. This is a holiday where many family members travel to be together. It is a great opportunity to take pictures of people who can’t usually be together. Remember to get a picture of all of the cousins in attendance at Thanksgiving dinner. Three or four generation pictures with grandma or grandpa down to their great-grandchild would make a very special photo.
Dinner table. I think that it would be fun to take before and after pictures of the dining table. You could also get close up of any special decorations that are on the table like the centerpiece, name cards, or the special holiday dishes.
Time in the kitchen. Don’t forget to record the effort that goes into preparing the meal. Take a picture of the chef with the turkey or a picture of someone with his or her favorite food.
The food. Take some time before people start eating to take close up pictures of all of the food that will be included in your meal. This could even become a mini book filled with favorite Thanksgiving recipes and a photo on each layout.
After dinner activities. Do you have fun family traditions that occur after all that eating? Remember to record the outdoor football games, kids playing hide and go seek or the adults gathered around playing board games.
Remember that this is a holiday for you too; so don’t wear yourself out trying to capture everything. Just pick a couple of your favorite things that you want to remember and leave the rest for next year.
Have a wonderful holiday!
