Catching Up With Kiefer and Lindsay

I blogged not too long ago about “24” star Kiefer Sutherland and his most recently DUI. I had to preface that with “most recent” because he has had quite a few. Live and learn Kieifer, live and learn!

Anyhow, today he was sentenced to 48 days in the Glendale jail after pleading no contest to drunk driving on September 25. His blood alcohol level was above the .08 legal limit allowed in California. Kiefer must begin serving his time before March 30, 2008. Part of the reason he got jail time was that he was still on probation for a 2004 drunken driving arrest.

Of his recent arrest, Kiefer said, “I am very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I’m deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends, and co-workers.” That is a nice speech Kiefer, but are you done or are you going to drink and drive again?

Speaking of drinking and driving, busboy Raymundo Ortega says that he has proof that Lindsay Lohan had been drinking in October 2005 when she ran into his van. Lindsay said the crash was Ortega’s fault because he made an illegal U-turn. He is suing her for $200,000 in damages.

TMZ is now reporting that they have a receipt of the bill that Lindsay and four of her friends ran up at the Ivy restaurant the afternoon of the crash. It shows that four alcoholic drinks were purchased – Ivy Gimlets, which contain vodka. Since the wreck, Lindsay has complete rehab.

More bad news for Lindsay as the New York Daily News named her “Hollywood’s dumbest celebrity.” They based their decision to place her at number one due to her arrests, bad movie choices, and rehab visits. Kiefer Sutherland also made the top ten of the New York Daily News dumb celebrity list.
