Do you love your Bugaboo Frog or Bugaboo Cameleon Stroller? It is high tech, light weight and the perfect travel system for busy moms. Well, not so perfect. It is missing one very important thing. Think about it. What do you wish you had on your Frog or Cameleon stroller that is missing? Do you remember the last time you were out strolling around town? Your little one is having a grand time looking around and spending the day sitting back relaxing. Then it happens. Your little one is hungry. You hand over a little box of crackers and before … Continue reading

Baby Shower Punch: Duckie Bath!

I love creative food and beverage ideas. Imagination and creativity with food can make an event magical and memorable. One way I express my creative side is by the food I serve for parties and events. I am not an expert by any means but someone who enjoys making things cute and memorable. One fun way I found to be creative with baby shower food fare is turning an ordinary punch into something adorable. I love that this idea would suit a boy or a girl. In fact, you could use this with just about any baby shower theme because … Continue reading

Duckie in a Tub First Birthday Cake

The photo above was edited by my lovely daughter. I think she approved of my cake design but it can be hard to tell with a teenager. I made this cake for my fourth daughter’s first birthday. It was fun and easy to make. I have been asked to make this cake for a baby shower as well so it has a few applications. I thought I would share this idea since it is so easy to make. Supplies: Clear piping gel (you can find it at your local baking supply shop) Graham Crackers White buttercream frosting Blue food coloring … Continue reading

Pressure to Name a Baby After a Relative

The joy of finding out your pregnant is overwhelming. Everyone is so happy and always asking you how you are feeling and treating you in a delightful fashion. You bask in the glow of motherhood to come thinking the blessings of parenting have already begun. Then you are asked the question. The question that shakes your reality and reminds you that other people mistakenly feel they have a stake in making one of the first decisions a parent should make; the name of the baby. Opinions on names can make the naming process more confusing and exhausting. Naming a baby … Continue reading

How Did You Decide on a Baby Name?

Naming a baby is almost as hard a raising a baby. Okay, well maybe not that hard but it is at least as hard as opening a jar of pickles. I have always found the experience to be overwhelming, confusing, and frustrating. It is hard enough to come up with your own list but having to agree upon a name with a spouse is like swallowing a sword sideways. Either you hate the names your spouse picks or your spouse hates the names you pick or a name reminds one of you of the germ filled kid in school who … Continue reading

Fun and Educational Toy: Habaland Play Blocks

I live in a home of builders. My children are always building something or tearing something down. Legos and wooden blocks have nothing on video games in my home. Unless you talk to my 11 year old son and he may disagree. If I had to box up every building toy in my home it would probably build a real home. I find so many applications and uses for building toys but my favorite is creative, imaginative, quiet playtime. I love seeing the intensity on a child’s face while she builds a new city. Blocks break the age barrier as … Continue reading

Traveling with a baby can be a challenge. Babies are creatures of habit and comfort. If you disturb a routine or have an uncomfortable ride you are likely to have an unhappy baby. A happy baby equal s happy traveling parents. Having four children and brining each of them everywhere from the park outings to overnight trips I know how important it is to have comforts of home on hand. One comfort that is certain to win the heart of your baby is the Oliver B stroller blanket and pillow. Recently I was introduced to this product and I cannot … Continue reading

Must Have Item (for diaper bag): Nourish

I am noted for always being prepared. If you need a band aid, tissue, baby wipe, pen, snack, Tylenol, first aid cream, or a thingamabob, look no further than my diaper bag or purse. I always carried a diaper bag so heavy it could double as workout gear. It never let me down as I moved along happily with kids, toddlers and baby in tow ready to address any snack emergency or car sick incident. I always recommend to any new mom that she needs a well stocked diaper bag. Keeping that in mind I just came across a new … Continue reading

Must Have Item: Pure Ayre Baby

Not all “Must Have Items” need to be toys, games, or baby gear. Sometimes a “Must Have Item” is simple like keeping your home a blessing to your family and others. When you have a home you fill it with all the beauty of life and your unique style. However, there are times that the beauty of life has a flip side that involves odors which offend the nose. Precious little babies produce big offensive smells. While you may not notice that your garbage containing the day’s diapers stinks to high Heaven your guests will notice. We can get used … Continue reading
