Shoes for My Daughter Part IV

Finding shoes for my daughter has been a huge struggle between finding shoes that are affordable, comfortable, and something that she could wear with anything.  With weekly perusals at the children’s consignment shop and finding very little that met my criteria, I was relieved when my mother-in-law expressed the desire to buy my children shoes.  However, I was met with similar issues in the children’s shoe department. While most of the shoes were very cute and colorful and pricey,  I was only getting one, possibly two, pairs of shoes.  I wanted to find some shoes that had the comfort of … Continue reading

Shoes for My Daughter Part III

I knew that I needed to find a way to help my daughter get used to wearing shoes. So I did what any mother would do, I put them on her while she was in her carseat or riding in the stroller. This helped her get used to the feel of them on her feet without giving her the opportunity to tear them off of her feet.  It was especially helpful when she fell asleep in her carseat because she was was unknowingly getting used to the feel of a shoe.  It took a little while for her to be … Continue reading

Shoes for My Daughter Part II

Having purchased several pairs of shoes (granted they were all from a consignment shop for children’s gently used clothes) for my infant daughter that she either only wore once or twice or not at all, I decided to let the whole shoe wearing urge go for the summer.  My daughter spent the remainder of the warm weather blissfully and gleefully shoe free. Once the weather started to turn cool, I was on the hunt again for footwear for my daughter (who at this point was ten months old and has already taken her first steps). This time around, however, I … Continue reading

Shoes for My Daughter Part I

Since my daughter’s birth, a little over a year ago, I have been buying her shoes.  I never really worried about shoes for my son when he was an infant, but for some reason I felt that my daughter ought to have shoes to go with her cute little outfits, especially her dresses. The first I dress I bought for my daughter after she was born was her Christmas dress.  I bought it only a couple days before Christmas in utter desperation because that outfit that I had bought for this very special occasion was too big.   As luck would … Continue reading

They Broke My Stroller!

I learned a valuable lesson this week. Never take your nice stroller on an airplane. My family and I had to take an unexpected trip to California for a funeral. Flying with a baby always presents challenges, but when you are traveling with a baby, you need as many hands free as possible. So, it is always a good idea to take a stroller with you. My husband and I purchased a stroller when our third was born that was a very expensive brand. We bought it used to save on costs. It has been a great stroller and a … Continue reading

The Bath Time Circus

Giving my kids baths has always been a fun experience when they are babies. They love to splash and kick, the warm water soothes them, and my babies have all loved bath time. But, recently my little guy has become Trouble with a capital “T” at bath time. It is driving me a little crazy. Gone are the days when he would just lay in the water, kick his legs and smile up at me happily. Now, he is a crazy man all over the place. He wants toys to entertain him (understandable since he sees his older siblings with them) … Continue reading

Road Trip with Baby

As if traveling last month with my baby on his first plan trip wasn’t enough, we decided to make a big road trip last week to the beautiful Lake Tahoe for a family member’s wedding. I knew my older two children would be easily entertained in the car with movies and my iPod, but was really worried about how my 9 month old would do. The only other car trip that we went on with him since he was born, was about a 4 hour trip. This one was much longer (closer to 9 hours), but on that 4 hour … Continue reading

Ever Dreamed of a Personal Shopper for Your Baby?

So, I love to scrapbook and used to subscribe to a monthly scrapbook kit each month that was delivered right to my door. I remember the excitement of getting that box and opening it and seeing all my new goodies. Well, another company has started a similar concept for children. They are called Citrus Lane. Rather than hunting for the latest and coolest new baby products, they do it for you, put them together in kits and deliver them right to your door. I love this idea! The cost is only $25 (and free shipping) and you get anywhere from … Continue reading
