Restrictions on Mail In Rebates in Wisconsin?

Oh me oh my. Seems that we now need to be protected from rebates. At least that is what one Wisconsin state senator thinks. Wisconsin State Senator John Lehman wants to protect consumers from “slippage”. That’s what happens when the consumer buys the product, attracted by the rebate, but somehow never turns the rebate in or it is denied on a technicality. He wants everyone who buys the product to get it at the rebate price at the store, if the store is advertising a price after rebate. So he is introducing a resolution to make this a law, forbidding … Continue reading

Whether or not you own a home, you can take advantage of the federal government’s programs to stimulate the economy and promote energy efficiency. There are great incentives for buying an energy efficient home, or doing the additional work to make it energy efficient and save you money over the years. But the most immediate benefit that will affect homeowners and tenants alike is the new “cash for clunker appliances” rebate scheduled to take place this spring. You can find out about the rebates for your state here on the Department of Energy website. Different amounts are budgeted per state; … Continue reading

Thanks to Winn-Dixie for Supporting Breast Cancer Research

I usually blog about deals, coupons, sales, and matching up coupons and rebates to stores. Today I want to tell you about Winn-Dixie – not about the money I saved shopping there but about the lives they helped to save by being a sponsor of the National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer in Jacksonville, Florida. Winn-Dixie, along with several other companies, was a sponsor of this event. At the expo before the run, they sent representatives from their pharmacy to check blood pressure and body mass index (BMI). I don’t know what they donated financially as a sponsor, but I … Continue reading

Walmart’s Black Friday Black Mark

This year, Christmas shopping got an early boost. Retailers were advertising their specials around Halloween, proclaiming that Black Friday had come early. We had lots of opportunities to take advantage of “Before Black Friday” sales and special opportunities in Cyber Space. For those who wanted to shop in the wee hours, there was plenty to plan for, and still a lot of competition for those incredible, but limited, deals. Walmart was among the stores that was most guarded about their Black Friday Deals. Owners of affiliate marketing and deals websites were warned to not post any details about what would … Continue reading

Survey Said – Lets Make Some Money!

One part of deal hunting that is catching on is taking surveys. Some surveys pay you money, some just give you points in an overall site account that can then be redeemed for gift cards or cash. Probably the most desirable site for paid surveys is Pinecone. You do not get too many opportunities to sign up with them. When you see their banner advertised on any site, be sure to click it. This is the only way you get to register. The pay is $3 per survey and a chance to win prizes. They have frequent surveys, and pay … Continue reading
