October is Walk to School Month

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.-Winston Churchill October 4th is International Walk to School Day. This year, however, communities can choose to celebrate Walk to School for a day, a week or a month. This decision was made by the International Walk to School Committee that has several countries participating and working together to inspire interest in this event. Kid Fitness: Myths about Overweight Children

Genuine concern exists for parents about the weight of their children. We hear a news story every single day about childhood obesity. We hear about what we need to be afraid of and in some cases, what we need to do as parents to protect our children. Today, I want to talk about some of the myths associated with overweight children. Ring Around the Yogi

Today seems like talk about our kids and their physical exercise opportunities day. A bit of a mouthful, yes, I know – but still, I like talking about kids and about the fitness opportunities that are available for them. Among some of those opportunities are great places like The Little Gym where kids are encouraged to explore their physical selves through guided exercises and free play. Exercise Tips for Kids – What Can Parents Do

What can you as a parent do to increase the activity levels of your kids? There’s plenty.
