The West Wing Countdown Part I

Greetings and salutations, my name is Heather and I host the Fitness and Marriage Blogs. Now I have the honor of hosting a farewell series in honor of The West Wing. Currently airing Sunday nights on NBC at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, The West Wing is counting down to a final few episodes that pay homage to the last seven years of brilliant creativity and challenging drama. So please join me as I look back at the last seven years and discuss the current episodes as they air. First things first, let’s take a look back at where we … Continue reading

Deal Or No Deal

Deal? Or No Deal? That’s really the only question to answer on NBC’s popular game show Deal Or No Deal where contestants play for their chance at one million dollars. I had actually never heard of the show until a few months ago when they had an open call in my town to be a contestant. Thousands of people showed up for their chance to appear on the show. With that much of a turn out for the casting call I was a little intrigued, and watched a few episodes. The way the show works is pretty simple. Models walk … Continue reading

My Name Is Earl

kar·ma n. 1. The total effect of a person’s actions and conduct during the successive phases of the person’s existence, regarded as determining the person’s destiny. According to Earl Hickey, the slightly dim, but gentle country boy of NBC’s My Name Is Earl, karma was invented by the “brilliant” talk show host, Carson Daly. After watching an episode of Carson’s talk show in which Earl learns that successful people reap success by being good to others, Earl decides to change his ways and, in doing so, begins making a list of all the bad things that he’s ever done to … Continue reading

TLC’s While You Were Out

One of my favorite shows to watch is “While You Were Out” on TLC. The premise of the show is someone trying to surprise a loved one by having a room in their home redecorated while they are away. The unsuspecting person is sent away for the weekend and while they are gone their home is taken over by the While You Were Out crew and a room is redecorated especially for you. My favorite episode of this show was one done in New York where a man had his backyard re-done for his wife. Before the show the backyard … Continue reading

American Idol: Is It Appropriate For Kids?

Let me start by saying I am an American Idol fan, and tune in every week. The show has turned into as much of an addiction as coffee for me. I work as a video editor for a local television station in my town. Each morning after American Idol airs I am responsible for putting together a two minute piece on the previous nights show to air during our morning newscast re-capping the performances and results for the contestants from North Carolina. This season there have been several statements made on the show that have had our morning producers asking … Continue reading
