Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes, most famous for “All That” and “The Amanda Show,” has had multiple run-ins with the police lately. The 26-year-old sideswiped a police car of all things on April 6th. She was released but later charged with DUI for refusing a breathalyzer test. Then, April 10th, she was involved in a hit-and-run. Nick Stahl has gone missing. The actor, who played John Connor in Terminator 3, was reported missing by his estranged wife, Rose Murphy. Murphy told LAPD that she hadn’t seen Stahl since May 9th. She believes he was last seen in the Skid Row district. Earlier today, LAPD released a statement saying the actor is still listed as missing. The couple has been separated since January. Fearful of what she thought was drug use, Murphy asked that Stahl have limited, supervised visitation with their two-year-old daughter. There’s nothing like a celebrity’s milestone birthday to make you feel old. Take Jack Nicholson for example. I read that Jack Nicholson turned 75-years-old yesterday. What? That just can’t be! Seventy-five is the age of grandparents – my grandparents – so there’s no way Nicholson can be that old. From the sometime in the ‘30s until 2010, a mysterious figure has visited the gravesite of Edgar Allan Poe in Baltimore, Maryland on January 19th, Poe’s birthday. The figure, presumed to be male due to size, always dressed in black, wore a hat or white scarf to conceal his face, and used a cane. He appeared in the graveyard during the early hours. He poured himself a drink from a bottle of cognac, toasted Poe, and then left the unfinished bottle and three roses on the monument. He then disappeared into the night. My best friend’s daughter planks. Or is that the right wording? Should I call her a planker? If you don’t know what planking is, don’t feel so bad. Microsoft word balked at my using planks as a verb and planker as a noun. Planking is the craze where you lie straight down on something, with your arms to your side. One of my favorite places to visit in Hollywood is the Walk of Fame and Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Yes, I know it’s touristy, but guess what? I am a total tourist when it comes to Hollywood. If you have ever been to Hollywood, you have probably seen the superheroes that appear in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard. It’s a gimmicky thing that tourists love – or do they? The Los Angeles Police Department has shut down the impersonators because they received several complaints of harassment.
