Rosie O’Donnell Under Fire for Grabbing Son

Here we go again. Rosie O’Donnell’s back in the headlines for something she says she didn’t do and Donald Trump is there to add his two-cents worth on the entire ordeal. The latest Rosie rant started last week when The Globe ran a cover story with the headline “Abusive Rosie Bullies Son, 12.” The photos that accompany the article show an angry O’Donnell in an apparent argument with her pre-teen son Parker (who by the way has grown a LOT since I last saw him—-heck, he’s nearly as tall as Rosie). In one particular shot the former talk show host … Continue reading

D-List Stars Making News: Kathy Griffin Marries and Nick Lachey Heads Back to School

KATHY GRIFFIN MARRIES The loud-mouthed divorcee has tied the knot again… only she’s not the one wearing the ring. Rather, the sitcom star took on the role of minister and married a real life couple last weekend. Two crazy Kathy Griffin fans reportedly asked the “My Life on the D-List” star to officiate their wedding in New York and naturally the sometime talk show host couldn’t turn down the invitation. According to the 47-year-old comedienne, she was ordained through an online church and completed additional paperwork to meet New York State requirements before happily marrying Brian Anstey and Elka Shapiro. … Continue reading

Rosie & Barbara Far From Friends

Be careful what you tell Rosie O’Donnell. It’s a lesson Barbara Walters is learning the hard way. Last week, the former “View” co-host joined Roseanne Barr on stage at a local New York City comedy club and sang like a canary divulging some of Walters’s most intimate secrets. According to the New York Daily News, O’Donnell started off by telling the audience that contrary to popular belief, she was fired by the Emmy Award-winning journalist. The truth finally comes out. The revelation was a far cry from the glossy statement given by O’Donnell earlier this summer when she told the … Continue reading

Joan Rivers Gets The Boot From The Red Carpet

Can you imagine an awards show red carpet show void of the off-the-cuff remarks made by the ever-present Joan Rivers? Unless she gets hired by another network (which I’m sure she will), the tell-it-like-it-is comedian’s red carpet days are over. The TV Guide Channel just announced that they have decided to end Rivers’ reign as their leading red-carpet hostess. That’s right; the 73-year-old is once again having to look for a new network’s microphone to tote around come awards show season. And that goes for her daughter Melissa too. You’ll recall the mother-daughter team had previously been employed as the … Continue reading

Andy Dick – How Much Is Too Much?

Some of the greatest comic geniuses are often troubled people. Many of them needed the attention comedy gave them to make up for something else they lacked in their childhoods. Many have turned to alcohol and drugs to help silence their demons. So what is up with Andy Dick? I must admit, sometimes I do find him quite funny. But, most of the time, he is so over the top; it is more uncomfortable than funny to watch him. Case in point – he was recently forcibly removed from the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show. He was on the same night … Continue reading

A Quieter Divorce: Chris Rock

Britney, Britney, Britney – her name has been in every headline for the past 24 hours since she filed for divorce. Britney finally decided to kick K-Fed (now Fed-Ex) to the curb. Are any of us really surprised? Even though I thought they were a terrible couple, I was still somewhat shocked by the annoucement. I dutifully read the tabloids each week and they have been running stories on Britney and Kevin breaking up since they got together. But still, it was a surprise to know the tabloids were right, at least for once. Another celebrity divorce you may not … Continue reading

Comic Relief Returns

If you have been missing Comic Relief, you will be glad to know it is returning! The three original comedian hosts – Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, and Robin Williams – will return on November 18th to resurrect their fundraising comedy concert. This is the first time in almost eight years the three have gotten together and this time, the money will go to victims of Hurricane Katrina, including both humans and the animals displaced because of the storm. Due to many factors including lack of housing and jobs, a year after the storm, the New Orleans population is estimated to … Continue reading

Tom Arnold and Third Wife Separate

Tom Arnold announced this week that he and his wife of four years, Shelby Roos, are separating. Arnold met Roos at the 2000 Democratic National Convention where she was a political consultant. Call me crazy, but I would think a political consultant would be far too serious for Tom. Tom has asked the court that his Beverly Hills home as well as money he had going into the marriage remain strictly as his property. I am not aware as to whether the two signed a prenuptial agreement or not. This is Tom’s third marriage. His first was a high profile … Continue reading

The Tears of a Clown: Robin Williams Enters Rehab for Alcoholism

There are two stars that I almost feel like I have grown up with – John Travolta and Robin Williams. Both were young stars when I was a teen and have grown into very established stars. I have followed the career of both and have seen them go from underappreciated to well respected actors. As far as comedy goes, there is – at least in my mind – no comic greater at improve than Robin Williams. In fact, he may be the best – ever. It was announced this week that Robin Williams decided to enter rehab for alcoholism. His … Continue reading

Memorial Planned For Oscar Winning Comedian

Within hours of hearing of Red Buttons’ death his fellow actors announced that they plan to memorialize the Academy Award-winner with a star-studded tribute. The 87-year-old redheaded comic whose career spanned from the days of vaudeville to guests spots on “The Cosby Show” and “Roseanne,” died of vascular disease at his Los Angeles home on Thursday. According to news reports, Buttons had been battling the disease for some time and was “with family members when he died.” Buttons (born Aaron Chwatt) got his famous nickname when he was a young singing waiter whose uniform had a lot of buttons on … Continue reading
