Quite a few things going on in the music world today. Rapper Coolio has pleaded not guilty to one felony drug charge and misdemeanor counts of battery and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on March 10 after screeners at the Los Angeles International Airport reportedly found drugs in his luggage. The battery charge was issued when Coolio grabbed the arm of a TSA official who was trying to search his luggage. If convicted, Coolio could face up to three years in prison. I missed this story when it was originally published, but 21 year old Australian swimmer Nick D’Arcy just received a suspended sentence for an assault charge. D’Arcy was involved in a brawl on March 31, 2008 with former swimmer Simon Cowley, who had won three gold medals at the Commonwealth Games. That night, D’Arcy was celebrating his place on the Australian Olympic swimming team at a Sydney nightclub. Cowley is said to have slapped the inebriated D’Arcy then a brawl broke out. According to reports, the Material Mom will add another daughter to her brood of kids, which already includes 12-year-old Lourdes, 8-year-old Rocco, and 3-year-old David Banda. No, Lance Armstrong didn’t run over Matt Lauer during a training ride. Rather, the two quasi-celebs, who happen to share the same haircut, were involved in two separate bicycle accidents, which left them both hospitalized.
