Lance Armstrong and Matt Lauer Injured in Cycling Accidents

No, Lance Armstrong didn’t run over Matt Lauer during a training ride. Rather, the two quasi-celebs, who happen to share the same haircut, were involved in two separate bicycle accidents, which left them both hospitalized. Armstrong reportedly remains hospitalized in Spain following a crash this morning. The seven-time Tour de France champ was participating in his first professional race on European soil since winning his last yellow jersey when he got caught up in a massive pile-up involving dozens of other riders. Reports say Armstrong went down about 12.5 miles from the finish line during the first stage of the … Continue reading

Terrell Owens Gets Reality Show

Football fans may or may not like it, but Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens is going to be the star of his own reality show. The reason I say fans may or may not like it is because many fans don’t like Owen due to his outspokenness and huge ego. It’s not that Owens cannot deliver on the field – he can. Drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the 1996 NFL draft, he helped the team win 13 games that year. In 2000, he made 20 catches for 283 yards, breaking a 50 year old NFL record. However, … Continue reading

O.J. Simpson’s Headed to the Big House

And, by “Big House,” I don’t mean some luxury mansion is Los Angeles or Miami. After years of questionable behavior, O.J. Simpson has finally been brought down by the law and he has landed really hard. (This image is a work of a U.S. military or Department of Defense employee, taken or made during the course of an employee’s official duties. As a work of the U.S. federal government, the image is in the public domain.) In case you haven’t heard about his latest fiasco, O.J. was on trial for confronting memorabilia sellers Bruce Fromong and Al Beardsley in Las … Continue reading

Talk Show Hosts say Magic Johnson “Faked” AIDS

We all know that sometimes talk show hosts can step over the line when on air. Take Don Imus and his comments about the Rutgers’ woman’s basketball team for example. Now two Minneapolis radio talk show hosts are finding themselves in deep water as well for their on-air comments. Chris Baker and Langdon Perry of station KTLK took insensitive to a whole new level this week when they (hopefully) were joking about Magic Johnson and AIDS last Wednesday. They were talking with another caller about health care when the following exchange took place: Perry: What about diseases that are eminently … Continue reading

O.J. Simpson Headed for the Slammer—Is it Justice Delayed?

Can you really call it a coincidence? Thirteen years to the day after being acquitted of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, Ron Goldman in one of the most publicized trials of the 20th century, O.J. Simpson was found guilty of robbing two sports-memorabilia dealers at gunpoint. Late yesterday a jury found the former football star guilty on all 12 counts, including kidnapping, armed robbery and 10 other charges stemming from Simpson’s decision to storm into a Las Vegas hotel room with a couple of associates–guns drawn–in an effort to seize several game balls, plaques and photos … Continue reading

Hmmm… maybe this is the real reason his fiancee dumped him. Julianne Hough , we should have believed you from the get go. “Dancing with the Stars” champ Helio Castroneves may be shimming his way into a prison cell if federal prosecutors get their way. Michael Phelps’ Mom Scores Big at the Olympics Too

Swimming sensation Michael Phelps is not the only one in the family who made waves at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. The woman who gave birth to the “Baltimore Bullet,” Debbie Phelps, has just been crowned with the title of “Mom of the Olympic Games.” The honor was given by Johnson’s Baby and comes in the form of a hefty check the company plans to donate in Debbie’s name to her favorite children’s charity. The middle school principal from Maryland says she was honored by the award and is pleased that the money will be going to help children … Continue reading
