Camilla Banned From Princess Diana Memorial Service

That’s what some loyal Princess Diana fans would like people to think, but according to British newspapers, Prince Charles’s wife Camilla voluntarily decided to sit out Friday’s memorial service for the late Princess of Wales. Palace officials say Diana’s sons, Prince William and Prince Harry – who will lead the service, marking the 10-year anniversary of her death – extended an invitation to Camilla, and she had initially accepted. But once British newspaper columnists learned that the Duchess of Cornwall, had accepted the invitation from Charles and his sons, they unleashed a litany of postings urging her not to attend … Continue reading

Was It All Just A Big Hoax?

Perhaps, I should have been a professional royal-watcher… A couple of weeks ago when the news broke that Prince William and his girlfriend of nearly five years, Kate Middleton “split” then dramatically reunited last month, my royal feelers went up. I cynically made the comment (in this blog) that the royal break up was really a carefully planned royal hoax. (For the record Valorie agreed with me.) Now it seems my super powers may finally be validated. According to the New York Post, a veteran royal watcher is confirming that William and Kate never actually broke up in the first … Continue reading

A Royal Reunion?

They said it wouldn’t last … the split that is. When Prince William and his girlfriend of four years Kate Middleton split earlier this year many observed that the separation was “temporary.” If you happened to be one of those people, give yourself a pat on the back—-it seems you were right. According to British newspapers, 25-year-old Prince William and Kate Middleton have resumed their relationship. The newspapers report that the stylish couple attended a party together earlier this month and William has invited Kate to attend the much hyped memorial concert he and his brother Prince Harry are planning … Continue reading

Do You Want To See The Pictures?

Nearly a decade after her horrific death Princess Diana is still making headlines. The latest coverage includes pleas from Diana’s sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. The princes are going public with their wishes that a British television station not broadcast a series of photos taken immediately after the car crash that killed their mother in Paris on August 31, 1997. In a statement to network executives Prince William and Prince Harry maintained that showing the images in a documentary scheduled to air today would be a “gross disrespect to their mother’s memory” and “deeply distressing” to them. Pop Culture Potpourri: The Green Prince and A “Star Wars” Marathon

THE GREEN PRINCE Prince Charles has made headlines for being “green,” but the environmentally friendly future king of England may have a hard time topping this next move. Less than 24 hours ago Madame Tussauds unveiled a new wax figure of Prince Charles to reflect his efforts to combat climate change. Workers at the museum designed a one-of-a-kind “green” version of the Prince of Wales by recycling wax from a 1989 figure of the royal and updated it with 82 pounds of organic beeswax, 55 pounds of clay and fiberglass. Artists also used organic pigments to color the skin. But … Continue reading

Prince Harry—No Iraq

Was it all much ado about nothing? Or was it a legitimate case of risky business? Whatever the real reason is (or if in fact the report is true) Britain’s Prince Harry will not be going with his unit to Iraq. According to Britain’s top general, sending Harry was simply too dangerous. Gen. Sir Richard Dannatt, the army chief of staff who recently traveled to Iraq to assess the situation prior to the prince’s deployment said today, “the changing situation on the ground exposed the prince to too much danger.” The general went on to say that specific threats to … Continue reading

Celebrity Updates: Middleton’s New Life and The Wiggles’ New Addition

Kate Middleton is adjusting to her new life without boyfriend Prince William. After nearly five years together, the couple recently decided to call it quits and as all things related to the future king of England the news made international headlines. Be that as it may, the intense media scrutiny apparently hasn’t stopped Middleton from carrying on with her daily activities. The 25-year-old was recently photographed leaving her parents house (she reportedly flashed a huge smile at waiting photographers) for her own London flat. She was later caught by paparazzi carrying a tennis racket and smiling again as she walked … Continue reading

Prince William Suddenly Single

So much for that December royal wedding some were predicting… British tabloids took a hit today after several media outlets confirmed that Prince William and his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton decided to call it quits. According to The Sun newspaper, the couple reached an “amicable agreement” to separate, though a spokesman at the prince’s office refused to comment on the break up. The 24-year-old prince and his 25-year-old girlfriend met as students at St. Andrew’s University in Scotland in 2001 and first started dating in 2003. They briefly split for about five months a couple of years ago, but got … Continue reading

Prince Charles vs. McDonald’s

In this corner… we have His Royal Highness, Charles, the Prince of Wales: A 58-year-old father of two who likes to grow his own organic vegetables. And, in this corner, it’s the MacDaddy of all fast-food giants, home of the clown bearing its name, and a host of other greasy (yet yummy) menu options–McDonald’s. Ding! Ding! Let’s get ready to rumble! Okay, perhaps, I am overdoing it a bit. After all, the alleged feud between the famous British royal and the fast food chain may not be as bad as many first thought. So how did all of this get … Continue reading

Prince Harry going to War?

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Princess Diana’s youngest son, 22-year-old Prince Harry, is set to go to Iraq very soon. It is believed that the Defense Secretary Des Browne will make the announcement on February 26th. The royal family has not made a comment on the report and the Defense Ministry had said it was speculative earlier today, but CNN is reporting that a British Military source is saying he will indeed go to war. Prince Harry graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 2006. He is known by the 11 soldiers he commands as Troop Commander Wales. … Continue reading
