Why Pay for Digital Scrapbooking?

Have you ever paid for online scrapbooking services? I can’t see why you would have to given how many reputable sites offer high-quality services for free. Granted, I am not a hardcore digital scrapper. Rather, I tend to cling to the traditional method, but still, I can honestly say that I have yet to spend a dime scrapping online. Of course, I am not easily suckered into buying hard-bound printed books containing my digital layouts, which is how many digital scrapbooking companies make their money. Another way online companies generate an income while still offering free scrapbooking services is that … Continue reading

Going Digital

A friend of mine is trying to get me to go digital. She doesn’t see how I could possibly want to stick with traditional scrapbooking when I could be embracing the wave of the future—-digital scrapbook kits. The other day she walked me through her Adobe Photoshop program to show me how she creates her stunning layouts. To be honest, I am not a tech-nut. I like simple and clean. Photoshop seems like it is better suited for sophisticated and elaborate spreads given the almost endless amount of effects you can create on a single page design. Even the most … Continue reading

Tips For Reusing Digital Elements

There is a definite perk to creating scrapbook layouts digitally. Among the cost of the items being much less, the ability to reuse items is an added bonus which I feel adds to the whole frugal scrapbooking thing. However, I was surprised to learn that many digital scrapbookers do not know how to reuse their elements and feel as if they will be creating the same layout over and over if they use the embellishments again. This causes them to purchase more and more kits of similar items that are slightly changed in appearance. This is not even close to … Continue reading
