Christmas Scrapbooking Products To Sing About

Christmas is literally just around the corner. There are only forty three days left and to be honest, that isn’t as many as you think. Especially as December hits us, because our activities increase while holiday programs and breakfast with Santa seem to fall on every weekend. So who has time to scrapbook? Those that make time. I vowed several years ago not to stress out about getting Christmas pictures scrapbooked right after the season. In fact, what I do is scrapbook a few weeks before Christmas my pictures from last year. Sometimes I get together with friends to scrapbook, … Continue reading

Two More Locations To Find Scrapbook Supplies

We are still discovering scrapbooking supplies at obscure locations. The treasures you can find at places that have nothing to do with scrapbooking can be amazing. You have to learn to open your eyes and see beyond what an item was originally intended for. You need to see what it can be used for now! Just think, we wouldn’t have all of these fun fabric and paper flowers if some scrapbooker somewhere had not thought it would be cool to use silk flowers in her layout! She probably purchased those silk flowers at a craft store for a fraction of … Continue reading

More Places To Find Scrapbook Stuff

As I mentioned yesterday, sometimes you can find supplies in places that weren’t made for scrapbookers. Some stores now have small scrapbook sections or carry items that might not be for scrapbooking but could easily be adapted and used. Here are three more obscure places to find scrapbook supplies. Dollar Stores This is one of those things that you might get lucky, but then you might strike out. We have several dollar stores in our area that have a very small scrapbook section, however what they offer usually isn’t found anywhere else I’ve seen. I’ve gotten some cool packs of … Continue reading

Scrapbooking Finds At A Non-Scrapbooking Store

Sometimes a store that isn’t an actual scrapbook store, is a great place to shop for materials and supplies for your scrapbooks. Some stores actually carry items that are made for scrapbooking. And some stores carry items that aren’t made for scrapbooking but could be used for scrapbooking. Here is a nice list of places to look for scrapbooking supplies besides the norm. Target Not only does Target have a scrapbooking section, they also have a dollar spot section in the front of the store. The dollar spot area is where they clearance off a lot of scrapbooking related supplies. … Continue reading

Book Review: Layout Blueprints

Book Review: Layout Blueprints As scrapbookers, we are usually looking for ways to simplify our scrapbooking process. A new book, Layout Blueprints, is an excellent source of ideas for scrapbookers who are looking for ways to make scrapbooking a little easier. Layout Blueprints is an idea book full of sketches and example layouts based on those sketches. A scrapbook sketch is a simple drawing that shows the basic placement of photos, cardstock, patterned paper and embellishments. One of my favorite things about sketches is that they give you a starting point for your layout. Sometimes when I use a sketch, … Continue reading

Classy Scrapper Magazine Interview (3)

This is part three of a three-part interview with Ashley Smith, the creator of a new scrapbooking magazine, Classy Scrapper Magazine. Here is the final part of the interview. What has the response been like toward your idea for a new magazine? VERY POSITIVE! I’ve been blown away by the show of support by the online community and by my friends and family. What has been the biggest challenge in getting this magazine started? Relaying my ideas and “vision” to our graphic designer. I thought I could explain something once and he would automatically know what I meant, but we … Continue reading

Classy Scrapper Magazine Interview (2)

Here is part two of the interview I conducted with Ashley Smith, the creator of the new scrapbooking magazine, Classy Scrapper Magazine. How will Classy Scrapper Magazine be different from other scrapbooking magazines? Classy Scrapper Magazine’s main emphasis is the reader’s ability to use the publication as a practical tool, ideas that an “everyday” scrapbooker could accomplish both economically and timely. In addition, some editorial content will include ideas that are a step above, for those scrappers who want to work at a more advanced level. Classy Scrapper Magazine is proud to offer an editorial staff with solid publishing background … Continue reading

Classy Scrapper Magazine Interview (1)

As scrapbookers, we are always on the look out for new inspiration. A fellow scrapbooker, Ashley Smith, has decided to take that quest for finding more inspiration a step farther by starting a new scrapbook magazine. Classy Scrapper Magazine will be the title of her new creation that will be launching in March 2007. I am very anxious to see a new scrapbooking magazine full of fresh ideas. On Ashley’s blog, she says that she hopes the magazine will be a place where they will be able to feature more “unknown” scrapbook artists than many of the other scrapbooking magazines. … Continue reading

Choosing a Scrapbook Tote

Choosing a scrapbook tote can be quite a challenge with all the great options available. I think that when you are looking for a large tote, finding one with wheels is almost a must. A few things to consider when trying to decide on your scrapbooking tote are: Where do you plan to take the tote? Crops, Classes or Friend’s houses are typically where people want to cart their supplies to, but if you are looking for one that can travel on trips and vacations with you, consideration is necessary for carry-on luggage requirements and trunk space in your car. … Continue reading
