Princess Purse

The last time Grammy and Poppa came to visit was in September. Before they came Grammy called to ask if Jessie had a purse. Yes and no. Jessie appropriated my last nice purse for her own use and has taken over many tote bags. Jessie will carry around just about anything on her shoulder as a purse. On a trip to Kohl’s Jessie took a purse off a display and was going to leave the store with it as her own. Jessie is all about the purse right now; but no, she doesn’t have one that is specifically hers and … Continue reading

Stickers

My toddler has discovered stickers. Stickers aren’t new to Jessie, but she’s finally discovered the joy and pleasure that stickers bring. People have been giving Jessie stickers as long as I can remember, but Jessie didn’t care. Jessie would even give them back or just tell the giver no. Now she’ll ask for a sticker. She’ll ask for sticker from people she’s never gotten a sticker from before. She’ll ask for a sticker from people who have no logical reason to give Jessie a sticker. Jessie is all about the sticker now. I don’t know when the change started. The … Continue reading

Blowup Pool

Last summer I bought my toddler daughter a blowup pool. It was really cute with a sprayer and a slide. She had fun in it all of one time, if I remember correctly. A bad windstorm blew through our area and took our pool to our neighbor down the street. We ended up with another neighbor’s pool. Unfortunately, our pool met with a popped end. This summer I wanted to get a decent sized above-ground-pool. There are so many regulations on even above-ground pools for foster homes that I decided to not bother. I may still get the one I … Continue reading

Playing With Dolls

When I was a little girl I loved my dolls. I would make up elaborate scenarios for my babies and had the best time playing house and being mommy. I gave all my babies names and my mom made doll clothes for them. Many of them had stays at the doll hospital and I was anxious until their return. I would save my allowance and any other money that came my way so I could buy more dolls. I loved to brush their hair and even taught myself to French braid on a doll’s head. My toddler is obsessed with … Continue reading

Pillow Pets

There is the cutest new toy that is perfect for toddlers. It’s called Pillow Pet. You’ve probably seen the commercials and gotten the jingle stuck in your head: “It’s a pillow. It’s a pet. It’s a Pillow Pet.” The commercial shows a variety of stuffed animals that are very fluffy and huggable. The animal looks like an animal until you pull open the hook-and-loop closure. Then the animal flattens out into a perfectly toddler-sized pillow. My toddler doesn’t pay any attention to the commercial. I do. I want a Pillow Pet. Which pet will Jessie like most? She carries a … Continue reading

Little Tikes Cozy Coupe

My husband and I have assembled many things over the years. Few of them are fun to put together, but we’re used to doing it. We are usually pretty good at it and end up with a sturdy product. My daughter loves the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe. No matter where she is, if there’s a Cozy Coupe nearby, she has to be driving it, so it was only natural that we would add one to her arsenal of toys. In honor of the Cozy Coupe’s 30th anniversary a number of Coupe models have been restyled and reissued. The Princess Cozy … Continue reading
