Missed My Water Aerobics

Well my first day of water aerobics came and I could not go because wouldn’t you know it I had 2 kids home from school sick. Seriously this was the first time I had committed to exercise and it happens to fall on the same day my kids are home sick for the first time this year. It did not go over well with my new weight loss buddy I think she thought I was just trying to get out of it. The reality is I am actually looking forward to it. I am actually trying to get our weight … Continue reading

I Need A Belt

OK so it has been 4 days on the new weight loss supplement that I mentioned in my last blog and so far I think it is going ok. I am not feeling jittery, or jumpy it is not affecting my sleep if anything I think I am sleeping a little bit better. The main thing I have found is that I was walking into my kids school and my pants started to fall down. Now I hate when kids or adults walk with their pants on the ground and here I am a 41 year old woman and my … Continue reading

I Fell Hard

OK so I may have had a hiccup with my weight loss. I had broken my ankle about a year and a half ago and it was a very bad break. I broke a bone called the talus that is in my ankle. Well since I broke this bone I have had so many problems, 12 weeks of bed rest so I would not put weight on it, multiple cortisone shots, 2 surgeries so far and they will eventually have to put cadaver bone in my foot to try to generate cartilage to stop the pain. I tell you this … Continue reading

I Am Being Sabotaged

Sometimes I think my husband is trying to sabotage my weight loss adventure. He knows I like eating butterscotch pudding and what does he come home with today a 12 pack of butterscotch pudding. I am the only one in my family who likes to eat butterscotch pudding. Now when I mention this to him he always says well I got it in case you wanted something sweet. Well I do not think I became over weight because I have a habit of craving veggies. I try to explain to him that he is basically setting me up for failure. … Continue reading

Taking Out The Bad Foods

Well I must confess I have a secret I like chocolate, I have 3 kids that I just took trick or treating. When we got home we went through the candy picked out anything that looked even a little open, tossed the pixie sticks also known as pure sugar. We only allow them 2 pieces on Halloween night and then 1 piece every day for about 2 weeks. Now we are not talking about the regular size bars these are just the little fun size bars now they are not great for them but they are still kids and I … Continue reading

I ATE My Veggies

Hi so you have decided to follow my weight loss journey. Well so far I have finally got the all clear from my orthopedist to start slowly walk and use the exercise bike. I even went out and bought rather expensive sneakers to start the process. I am trying to build my foot up so I can hopefully work on it and actually succeed this time. I know that if I lose weight I will reduce my risk of recurrence with breast cancer and I will help my foot. Let’s face it if I weighed less my foot may not … Continue reading

I Am A Bad Role Model

Well as I mentioned my exercise is limited but I wanted to say what I can do and hopefully by telling you what I am eating, cut out of eating and what I doing for exercise. First what I am cutting out of my diet. I am not a huge fan of sodas but I do drink 1 or 2 a week. Never the diet kind (I hate the after taste) so I am going to totally eliminate my soda intake. I have already cut out all fried foods two years ago when my gallbladder was removed. If I wrote … Continue reading

What I Can Not Do To Lose Weight

Well as I said last time I am starting my weight loss journey now and I know it is going to be tough. I have a husband who does not eat great and 3 kids who do like the idea of changing how we eat. I was determined to start this when I hit my five year cancer free mar. Once I hit that mark I started riding an exercise bike a few miles a day. I did this for about a month then I shattered the talus bone in my ankle and could not put any weight on it … Continue reading

Starting a Journey to be Healthy

Well this is the start of my journey through weight loss. If you have not read any of my blogs before I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer 12/29/2005/ I underwent chemo therapy, radiation, a lumpectomy, bilateral prophylactic mastectomies and multiple reconstructions. I have done everything medically and surgically that I could do in order to attempt to prevent a recurrence. With my particular type of breast cancer; triple negative; the rate of recurrence is higher and the survival rate was lower so I want to see what I can do to help me be here for my husband … Continue reading
