Tea Recipes to Aid in Weight Loss

Tea alone cannot get you to your goal weight. Many insist that tea is a powerful aid in health and well being and that includes the aiding in weight loss. It is said that drinking 3 to 5 cups of green tea a day will help you burn an extra 70 calories a day due to thermogenisis. Obviously that is not enough to reach your goal weight but it may be a nice extra kick and green tea has health benefits to boot. Tea if left unsweetened has no calories and can keep you hydrated in a tasty way. We … Continue reading

Twist: Water with a twist!

The name Twist caught my eye since there is a little funky shop in my area by the same name. I soon realized Twist flavored water is as unique as my favorite little shop. My readers know that I keep my eyes peeled for organic and healthy alternatives to junk food and junk diet food. My hunt led me to Twist. Twist is manufactured by Talking Rain Beverage Company. I mention that only to point out how cool I think the name of the company is. Beyond a cool name of the company and the drink and beyond the cool … Continue reading

Cascade Ice: A Refreshing Low Calorie Drink

Cascade Ice is a product from the Unique Beverage Company, LLC. I love the name of that company. As someone who is always looking for something refreshing to drink the name of the product draws me in. I think to most who want to maintain a healthy lifestyle or in search of low calorie options, taste is important. I am a water drinker but there are times I like to branch out because water can be boring. I do not want to get sucked into drinking soda due to the high amount of sugar and high fructose corn syrup. So … Continue reading

Health Benefits and Claims of Tea

The potential health benefits of tea have been circulating for quite some time. While there has been no conclusive evidence there is enough reason to take a second look at how drinking tea may benefit your health. Tea is the most consumed liquid aside from water in the world. So if even a small fraction of those people are experiencing health benefits that could affect a large number. Or, it could simply mean that tea is a coincidental factor in the diet of the masses. For real answers, we need to look to scientific research. While the research is not … Continue reading

Would you like to lose five pounds? You may be able to do so by cutting back on your diet soda consumption. Now, I can’t guarantee you will see a huge drop in weight, but I think I probably lost about 5 pounds when I quit. I have read that some diet soda drinkers lose up to 15 pounds upon quitting. One of … Continue reading

A Glass of Water for Weight Loss?

My husband and I are both trying to lose weight. I am trying to lose a few inches of my baby belly and my husband is trying to lose the weight he gained from all those romantic dinners at Olive Garden during our first years together. Since I am nursing my 4-month-old, I’m a little limited when it comes to dieting, but my husband has radically changed his diet. In addition to eating a lot of lean protein, fish, and plenty of fruits and vegetables, he has increased his daily water intake. Can water really help you lose weight? It … Continue reading

Thirst Quenching Low Calorie Beverages

With summer just around the corner and the rising temperatures you will be looking to quench your thirst. Since it is really not smart to consume your calories with liquid when you are dieting, why sip on a high caloric beverage when a zero or low calorie drink is available? Of course, it is common knowledge that the best beverage to drink, especially in the hot weather, is water. You definitely want to steer clear of soda, as it only makes you more thirsty and is full of sugar. Personally, water is not my favorite thing to drink. I drink … Continue reading

Pumping Up Your Water

I came across two great products last week that I’d like to share with you. The first is South Beach Living On The Go, Tide Me Over. This is a powder-in-a-packet product that is individually wrapped for your convenience. Each packet mixes easily with water. Rather than the smaller recommended size, I prefer to use a 32 ounce Gatorade bottle to mix up a single serving. The flavor I tried is Natural Tropical Breeze. It is a mixture of tropical fruit flavors and a bit sweeter than I would prefer but when flavoring water, this is a great product! Although … Continue reading
