Celeb Updates: Anchors Away for Danny PLUS Donny and Marie Reunite to Crown a Queen

When I wrote about Rosie O’ Donnell’s offer to have ousted “American Idol” contestant Danny Noriega perform on her cruise ship I didn’t think she meant NOW.

Apparently, she did and he accepted and now the two (plus a ship full of other passengers) are on their way to Mexico. And if you don’t believe it O’Donnell’s got the video to prove it.

The former “View” co-host posted a video clip of the 18-year-old former “Idol” contestant and his cousin on board the ship used for O’Donnell’s R Family Vacations.

“Look who’s on the cruise,” O’Donnell screams to viewers on the video clip. After her excited introduction, O’Donnell follows up by gushing over Noriega saying: “Let me just say, I love you. I love your attitude. I love your spunk. I love your sassy ways. And I love your voice.” Noriega responds to the near breathless O’Donnell by saying: “I love your guts.”

You’ recall O’Donnell extended the teen an invitation to sing with her and Cyndi Lauper aboard the ship as it set sail to Mexico. Noriega never publicly accepted her invitation so seeing him on the video clip standing next to Ross “the Intern” Mathews (from The Tonight Show) and comedian ANT, who on the video blog told O’Donnell the aspiring teen singer has the “voice of an angel,” was quite shocking to me.

In not so shocking news Marie Osmond and her tag-along brother Donny are milking the extra 15 minutes of fame that Marie’s appearance on last season’s “Dancing with the Stars” afforded her to host the upcoming Miss USA pageant.

According to the Miss Universe Organization, the brother-and-sister, song-and-dance stars will perform on the NBC Universal show April 11th from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.

Pageant officials say the live telecast will represent the first time Donny and Marie have hosted a primetime show together since 2000.
