Celebrities Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving may be over, but Nancy Grace has something extra special to be grateful for today. According to her rep, the CNN Headline News anchor is finally getting to take home her nearly one-month-old baby daughter Lucy Elizabeth.

Little Lucy will join her twin brother John David who was released from the hospital on Thanksgiving. As I reported in a previous blog the babies were born on November 4th, two months before their scheduled due date. Doctors were forced to perform an emergency C-section on Grace after she was diagnosed with pulmonary edema during her pregnancy and developed fluid in her lungs. She was readmitted to the hospital shortly after giving birth because of blood clots in her lungs. The 48-year old cable news star was released from the hospital on November 16th and remains on medication.

CNN is reporting that Grace “is thrilled” with her daughter Lucy’s progress (the baby recently passed the four pound mark and is reportedly doing very well) and is “over the moon” that both babies will finally be under the same roof with their mom and dad.

Actress Jaime King has is also giving thanks this weekend. The “Fanboys” star skipped the malls on Black Friday and instead headed to Greystone Park and Manor in L.A to marry director Kyle Newman.

The couple, who met more than a year ago, chose the park because it was the site of their first date.

And finally… thanks to actor Colin Farrell a homeless Toronto man has 1,000 reasons to be thankful this weekend.

To fully appreciate this story you have to go back to 2003, that’s when Farrell helped a street-dweller win $2,000 in a radio station contest. Fast-forward four years to a few months ago when Farrell returned to Toronto for the city’s film festival. While there he ran into the same homeless man again. This time the actor took the guy on a shopping spree. Farrell also reportedly gave the man $1,000 with which he bought food for his other homeless friends. In addition to the shopping spree and extra cash, news reports say Farrell offered the man money for rent, but he declined.

Colin Farrell a prince to paupers… who knew?
