Celebrities Not the Only Ones Seeing Double

They aren’t exactly in the same league as Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Lopez, but two sisters in Michigan are making headlines of their own since giving birth to daughters last week.

Sarah Sweeter’s trip to visit her pregnant sister in Homer, Michigan was made even sweeter last week when she got to join her sibling in the delivery room to witness her niece being born. Only that wouldn’t be the highlight of Sweeter’s day.

Less than 13 hours after Sweeter watched her sister Deborah Lewis give birth, she went into labor and delivered her own daughter.

Members of the hospital staff say they have never experienced anything like it before.

Sweeter says she wasn’t due for another couple of weeks when she drove from her home in Kalamazoo to Homer to support her sister during her delivery. Little did she know that she too would be adding to her family on the same day.

Sweeter, Lewis, and their respective daughters (Sweeter named her daughter Wednesday and Lewis named her daughter Ariel) are reportedly doing well after making Michigan history.

Both sisters have a long way to go before they can break a record set last week by a mom in British Columbia.

According to news reports, a Romanian immigrant just gave birth to her 18th child, making her the Canadian province’s most prolific mother in 20 years.

Livia Ionce welcomed daughter Abigail last Tuesday. The healthy baby reportedly weighed in at seven pounds, 12 ounces.

The newborn joins 17 siblings who range in age from 20 months to 23 years.

Ionce, a 44-year-old stay-at-home mom, who immigrated to British Columbia from Romania in 1990, has spent more than half her life being pregnant.

She told local news reporters that she and her husband Alexandru Ionce never planned how many children to have.

“We just let God guide our lives, you know, because we strongly believe life comes from God and that’s the reason we did not stop the life,” said Ionce.

The busy mom says she doesn’t know if the couple will have more children. The family now has 10 girls and eight boys.

They should get together with the Duggar family.
