You may remember their gold winning performance at the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, but I have a feeling the skating team of Jaime Salé and David Pelletier are probably too sleep deprived to recall much of anything at this moment.
And they have a little boy named Jesse to thank for that.
According to news reports, Salé gave birth to the couple’s new son on Sunday in Alberta, Canada. Jesse Pelletier weighed 7 lbs., and measured 19 inches.
The Canadians are pros at ice-skating, but admit they are amateurs when it comes to parenting. In fact, the couple has only been married for about 18 months, though they’ve been skating together since 1998.
Their hard work paid off in 2002 when they were awarded the gold medal at the Olympics. But, they only got the gold after it was discovered their second place finish was the result of an illegal vote-rigging scandal.
Nice to see they have moved on from that unfortunate event and now have a son that will likely be skating before he can walk.
In a few short months actress Teri Polo and her drummer boyfriend will probably be feeling just as fatigued as Salé and Pelletier. That’s because the “Meet the Parents” actress is adding to the family.
“I’m over the moon! It’s my favorite role, being a mom,” Polo told reporters at a recent charity event. “I know we’re expecting a girl and I’m very, very excited.”
This will be the first child (and first girl) for Polo and her boyfriend together. They each have sons from previous marriages.
Polo says she is seven months pregnant and can’t wait to meet her “little princess.” The 38-year-old actress says she is thrilled to be adding to her clan. Polo currently resides in Los Angeles with her boyfriend (whom she met in 2004 on the set of a music video), their respective sons and five dogs.
