The following stars have extra reason to celebrate this Father’s Day—-the recent births of their new offspring. For some of these celebrities Sunday marks the first time they will experience Father’s Day as a dad.
Basketball star LeBron James already has a namesake 2-year-old son, but this Father’s Day will likely be even more memorable since he has a new baby boy to celebrate it with. James’ girlfriend welcomed their second son, Bryce Maximus James, on Thursday.
According to news reports, the 8 lb., 6 oz. baby was born at 12:51 a.m. in Ohio and his Cleveland Cavaliers father who was is in the thick of the NBA Finals was there to witness his birth.
James’ team may have lost the best-of-seven series, but the NBA forward gained a healthy baby boy this week—now that’s reason to celebrate.
WNBA star Lisa Leslie gave her husband Michael Lockwood the best Father’s Day gift ever yesterday—their first child, daughter Lauren.
According to PEOPLE magazine, the baby was born at 4:05 a.m. at an L.A. hospital and weighed 8 lbs., 11 oz.
Leslie, a center for the Los Angeles Sparks, sat out the 2007 season because of her pregnancy, but plans to return to the court next season.
Ditto that for tennis star Lindsay Davenport. The Wimbledon champ’s pregnancy prevented her from competing this season, but the rest seems to have paid off. On Sunday, Davenport and her husband, Jonathan Leach, welcomed their first child, a son named Jagger Jonathan Leach who weighed in 8 lbs., 1 oz.
Finally, supermodel Eva Herzigova won’t have to worry about finding the perfect Father’s Day gift for her Italian boyfriend Gregorio Marsiaj. I think giving birth to their first child, a healthy baby boy on June 1st is about as perfect as it gets.
A spokeswoman for Herzigova confirms the couple named their new addition, George Marsiaj Herzig.
